For 2013, the NE Board’s Youth and Junior Development Workgroup will support a regional team to compete in the Tour of Wales 24th August to 26th August 2013. For more info see website
This is a challenging and prestigious event requiring support, team structure and the very highest of commitment and current ability from the selected riders. To be considered for this, riders should fit the following criteria:
All riders considered for selection must be Juniors and hold a valid British Cycling racing licence which registers the rider in the North East. Riders will be considered against the following results, in order:
- Best 2 finishing positions from any National Junior Road Race series event in 2013
- Best 8 finishing positions from any other British Cycling seniors event, stating which categories they were competing with
- Technical ability – assessed - preferably from observation in cluster sessions and races by the coaches and team manager
- Attitude and commitment, ability to work as part of a team
Financial support for the team will be decided by the 24th June and advised to riders shortly thereafter.
