The North East Regional Board has recently created an Events Support Workgroup. Peter
Harrison is the Chair of the Group, which aims to support the development and
sustainability of high quality cycle events in the Region. The Group is looking
to extend its membership and are keen to hear from organisers who may be interested

The Region is considering setting up a workshop for organisers in the North East in the
future, however, in the meantime, the Yorkshire Region have invited organisers
to join their event for road and circuit event organisers on Saturday 25th
January at 1 pm at the Bridge Hotel, Walshford, Wetherby. This event will
be streamlined for both Yorkshire and the North East and aims to provide up to
before 11th January.

The British Cycling Online Event Manager enables event organisers to create cycling events
and submit them for regional and national approval via their membership account
on the British Cycling website. For regional approvers, it means less
paperwork, less postage and greater speed in handling event applications; for
organisers it means much more control over their events from registration to

As you know,British Cycling events require qualified commissaires to be present. The
Regional Competition Administrator (RCA), assigns the commissaires for road and
circuit races. The Chief Commissaire should make contact with organisers in
advance of the event; however, organisers may contact them direct. Organisers
who have not had confirmation of their commissaire team 3 weeks before the
event should contact the RCA. If you do not have a commissaire, the event
