British Cycling North East needs to increase the team of Accredited Marshals in the region for 2019.
After the success of the region’s first AMS event in County Durham last summer, it is expected that both Northumberland and North Yorkshire will give the go ahead to the Accredited Marshal Scheme this Spring.
Therefore, we urgently need to train another 10 to 15 Accredited Marshals to cover the additional events.
Accredited Marshal Training Course
Sunday 03 March at 9:00am
Chester-le-Street, Riverside Leisure Complex, DH3 3SJ
The course is free.
Enrolment is via the British Cycling website:
https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/course/details/5153
It involves some online learning and one morning of practical training.
Free British Cycling Bronze membership is available to non-BC members.
60% of road races across England now use Accredited Marshals who have been trained to use the "Stop! Cycle Race" sign, to legally stop and hold traffic, making road races safer for everyone involved; riders, the race convoy and other road users.
Come and be part of the team securing the future of road racing in the North East.
