North East to host first Go-Ride Conference of 2016

 

British Cycling have announced the dates for the 2016 Go-Ride Conferences and the North East will host the very first one!

Taking place on Saturday 27th February 2016 at the Raddison Blu Hotel in Durham, the conference is free to attend for all Go-Ride Volunteers who are British Cycling members, so put the date in your diary early. An exciting schedule is currently being finalised, with a theme to capitalise on the inspiration that will no doubt be created by the Olympics in Rio.

Invitations will be posted out to Go-Ride clubs in December, however if you have any questions regarding the conferences, suggestions for content or would like to register your interest early, please contact the Go-Ride team at This email address is being protected from spambots. The North East conference will again plan to incorporate a CAYV course into the day, full details of the course can be found here https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/youngvolunteers

Go-Ride Coach Vacancy Middlesbrough

 

British Cycling this week, welcomed Andy Samanjoul into the role of Go-Ride Coach North East, Andy brings a wealth of experience from many aspects of Cycling including, riding, coaching and volunteering. Recruitment is now open to fill a further vacancy, for a Go-Ride Coach in Middlesbrough.This is a 3 year fixed term contract which has arisen as a result of a new partnership with Middlesbrough Council.

The Role
The post holder will be required to plan, deliver and evaluate a co-ordinated programme of high quality, professional coaching activities to reflect the needs of young people in the local community and to link school, community and club provision, aiming to provide increased opportunities to attract and retain young people in cycling.
 
Interested?
We require a highly motivated individual who is able to work as part of a team and make a positive contribution to the achievement of team objectives. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and enthusiastic coach with experience of coaching young people within a range of different environments and demonstrate the relevant knowledge and experience of sports development. You must also hold a UKCC Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Cycling qualification (or equivalent).
The post holder will be required to reside within the boundaries of the British Cycling North East region, or be willing to relocate as appropriate. The role is based at the Middlesbrough Sports Village and will include both delivery at the cycling facility and outreach work throughout the Middlesbrough Council area.
