2017 Circuit Club Clusters of Training (CCT) at Newburn

This CCT is aimed at riders based in the north of the region,
but other riders meeting the criteria can attend.

The sessions are starting on Tuesday July 18th 2017 at
Newburn Riverside Business Park. Kingfisher Way. NE15 8NY.

Sessions are aimed at Junior and Youth A&B riders with a focus on
racing and training and are run by L2 & L3 Road & TT coaches.

Cost per session is £3 per rider, and each session runs from 7-9 pm.

Coaching Award Young Volunteers - October Half term

CAYV provides young people with the opportunity to develop a broad range of skills across a varied range of roles and activities within cycling.

A young person can volunteer in any of the following options:
Running a club:
This may include event management, race co-ordination or club development and could lead to becoming a Youth Representative for the club
This can encompass marshalling at Go-Ride Racing events and assisting at British Cycling regional competitions
Acting as an assistant to a British Cycling qualified coach at a local Go-Ride club, going onto complete a Level 1 at aged 16 or Level 2 at aged 18.
The next CAYV to take place in the North East has been scheduled for Monday 23rd October 2017, at The Hetton Centre, Welfare Rd, Hetton-le-Hole, Houghton le Spring DH5 9NE.
Timings of the day are 10am-3pm.

The programme is open to those aged 14-18.

Ride London Grand Prix

The North East Region has once again been invited to send a team of riders to the Prudential Ride London Grand Prix 2017. The event will take place on Friday 28th July at Lee Valley VeloPark.

Eligible riders must be within the following categories (up to 4 riders are permitted per group so 16 riders max):

  • Youth A & B Girls
  • Youth A & B Boys  


Whilst the region will administer the entry with the organizer, there will not be a designated team manager or coach so it is on an informal basis.

There is no cost to the rider to enter but all travel arrangements, and expenses would need to be covered by each rider and their family.
