Grass Track Racing reaches the North East

The new North Riding Grass Track League is now up and running in Richmond, North Yorkshire.

A series of 12 events for youth, junior and senior riders, every Monday evening from 5th May to 21st July 2014.

The race format is similar to a standard track league, with a mixture of handicapped and scratch, sprint and endurance events. Under 12's ride on geared freewheel bikes, all others age groups need fixed gear track bikes.

The league does have a number of grass track bikes with flat pedals to loan out. You just need
to take your own preferred pedals.

There are no BC licence points available as yet, but there is a league points system with medals and trophies at the end of the series.

Entry on the day, fees are £3 for under 12's. £5 for 12 – 18 year olds. £8 for seniors.

Under 12 racing starts at 6.30pm, other events start at 7pm.

Why not give it a try? It's a great way to experience track racing and will certainly improve your bike handling skills and power.
