South Shields Velo Promote Screening of David Millars 'Time Trial'

The club have been working with The Customs House and Film promoters to secure a screening of David Millar's Film 'Time Trial'.


The film has received a lot of acclaim and is a popular cycling themed film.


The screening event will take place on Friday 13th July at 8pm at The Customs House and tickets are available from The Customs House at the normal cinema ticket price.

Expression of interest – Youth Tour of Scotland 2017

The Youth Tour of Scotland provides some of the best rider development opportunities in the calendar and the highest standards of competition.
The BCNE Board will support North East Development teams of 4 boys and 4 girls to take part in this event.

Teams will be supported by a Team Manager and Team Coach.
This year the race is the weekend 7th-10th April 2017.

A team of 4 boys and 4 girls will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Preference will be given to Youth A boys or Youth A/B girls.
  • Must hold a valid British Cycling racing licence which states North East as the rider's region.
  • Technical ability (assessed in races, Club Clusters of Training (CCT) sessions and Regional Schools of Racing (RSR)).
  • Attitude and commitment to teamwork as well as developing as a rider and competing at National Level in Road (assessed in races, regional cluster coaching sessions and Regional Schools of Racing).
  • Performance in other cycling disciplines will be considered as a secondary criteria

The riders then selected will be notified by March 3rd with the selected teams then published on www.britishcyclingnortheast.org.uk

WInter Road CCT sessions from October 2016.

The winter Club Clusters of Training (CCT) sessions will start on Thursday 6th October 2016 at Prissick. The session will be held weekly and are open to riders who will be Youth B, Youth A or Junior in 2017, are intending to race and want to improve their technical, tactical and physical abilities. The  cost of each session is £3. Please be ready to ride at 7 pm. Sessions finish at 9pm.

We would also like to encourage coaches interested in contributing to the sessions to come along.
