MTB Inter-Regional Championships

The weekend of the 19th-21st September saw the running of the 2014 Inter-Regional MTB Championship with 14 teams representing the 10 English Regions, Scotland (North and South), Ulster and Wales compete.

In the overall team competition, history was made as a non-Scottish Team - the East Midlands - won the competition for the first time.  The silver medals went down to the wire with Scotland South just overtaking North East in the final event to snatch second place.

The championship comprised a skills competition, a handicap race, an eliminator, a mixed boys and girls relay and a XC race - testing the range of MTB  and teamworking skills of the riders.

The North East riders third position is a fantastic result, reflecting the strength of our current crop of both boys and girls in this discipline.
