The Cyclone Festival Needs You

British Cycling has confirmed that the National Road and Time Trial Championships will be held in Northumberland, close to Newcastle upon Tyne, 28 June – 2 July 2018, as part of the long-established Cyclone Festival of Cycling.

The national Time Trial championships (Senior & Under-23) will take place on Thursday 28 June with the Road Race championships (Senior & Under-23) being held on Sunday 1 July.

The Cyclone Festival of Cycling will also see thousands of members of the public taking part in two events, the Tyne 6 Bridges Fun Rides on Friday 29 June and the Cyclone Challenge Rides (sportive), which is run over 34, 64, 90 and 106 mile routes, on Saturday 30 June.

Thurs 28 June – National Time Trial Championships (all day)

Fri 29 June – Tyne 6 Bridges Family Rides (afternoon/evening)

Sat 30 June – Cyclone Challenge Rides (all day)

Sun 1 July – National Road Championships (all day)

The Cyclone Festival relies very heavily on volunteers for the safe and effective delivery of four days of cycling. If you would like to help at this year’s Festival, please contact organiser Peter Harrison via email only (please don’t contact him on social media) This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

If you have specific event related skills or experience, please mention these in your email and don’t forget to include your name, age, contact details and let Peter know which days you are available.

You can also help the event massively by simply turning up and participating in one of the public events. The whole Cyclone weekend is run on a not-for-profit basis and every entry received means more income to spend on the practicalities of running the weekend.

Entries are now open for the all the rides via the Cyclone website www.cyclonecycling.com - you can also keep up to date on Twitter @CycloneFestival and on the Cyclone Cycling Facebook page.
