British Cycling North East

Welcome

British Cycling North East (BCNE) is one of ten English regions, administering cycling on behalf of the British Cycling Federation. Our aim is to develop cycling in all its forms in the North East of England. From Whitby and Middlesbrough in the south to Berwick in the north, from the coast across to Hexham and Barnard Castle in the west. Our full time staff and regional volunteers work on behalf of people who ride bikes whether that is for fun, commuting, recreation or racing. Lobbying local councils, going in to schools, promoting cycle recreation and sport.

BCNE has a formal partnership with Newcastle City Council to deliver community cycling.

The North East region of British Cycling works to develop cycling in the North East over the whole spectrum of bicycle use. From getting people on a bike for the first time, working with the Local Authorities to improve cycling infrastructure, assisting schools in cycling initiatives and all the way to developing young racing cyclists to become tomorrow's stars.

Youth Talent Development

The region offers Talent Development sessions for Youth A and B riders, across Circuit, Track, MTB and Cyclo-Cross disciplines. In conjunction with the British Cycling North East board the region fund racing opportunities for riders to represent the region at Inter-Regional competition.
